Features
Brings existing KNX devices natively into Matter and HomeKit, integrating zero-project bus survey, local automation, built-in AI Agents, and remote ETS programming.
KNX
4 connection modes & retrofit
Supports UDP tunnelling, TCP tunnelling, multicast routing, and native direct link. Drop into existing Linux routers to upgrade without breaking existing services.
Multi-format import
Import ETS projects or Home Assistant configurations to recognise devices and group addresses.
Zero-project bus survey
Lost .knxproj files? Scan the bus line to reverse-engineer physical device models, wiring topology, and group address associations.
Group read / write
Read and write group addresses and monitor real-time bus telegrams directly from the web UI.
Ecosystems
Native Matter bridge
Directly connects Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings without intermediate plugins.
Native HomeKit stack
Proprietary Native HAP stack joins Apple Home as native accessories; pairing stays intact during device changes.
Local millisecond response
KNX, Matter, and HomeKit controls operate entirely within the local network with zero cloud lag, working reliably offline.
Privacy & internet control
Data stays on the device; the internet master switch ships off, with remote access, AI, and updates independently controlled.
Intelligence and automation
Built-in AI Agents
Seamlessly collaborating across operations: status queries, control execution, fault tracing, form assist, and nightly audits.
Local automation
Supports When · Only if · Then rules with non-disruptive dry runs; advanced rules run sandboxed Lua scripts.
MCP server
Standard MCP endpoint allowing external AI clients to interact with KMBridge capabilities.
REST and live events
REST API and SSE event streams with granular read-only, control, and configure token levels.
Maintenance
Remote web UI & ETS
Access the web UI via secure relay; create virtual interfaces for remote programming in native ETS, with instant local disconnection.
Firmware updates
Check for updates or upload packages via web UI; automatic rollback if a new version fails to start.
Safe mode
Automatically restores previous configuration and enters safe mode upon repeated startup failures, eliminating SSH recovery.
System logs
Inspect logs from the current and previous two runs; critical incident summaries persist across power loss.
Specifications
- Platforms
- ARMv5 / ARM64 Linux: a single fully static file, no system libraries needed
- Device types
- 19 sub-types: lights (on/off, dimmable, tunable white, RGB), switch, outlet, curtain, blind, AC, ventilation / air purifier, fan, thermostat, scene, Generic Switch, and temperature, humidity, light level, motion and contact sensors
- KNX
- UDP / TCP tunnelling, multicast routing, native link; ETS project import; bus survey; group read / write
- Matter
- Native bridge, up to 256 devices; how many can be used depends on the license edition
- HomeKit
- Native bridge, up to 149 accessories
- Interfaces
- REST API, SSE event stream, MCP; read-only, control and configure token levels
- Configuration
- Built-in web UI (中文, English); configuration stays on the device
- Internet
- Master switch ships off; licenses can be activated offline
Without activation KMBridge runs as Community: up to 40 devices, without HomeKit, the AI assistant and checks, the MCP server, ETS project import, advanced automation (Lua), KNX time publishing or remote access. Remote access also needs a cloud subscription; AI needs internet.
